Legislation

By its novelty, videorecording is the field which usually creates more legal confusion. Thus, we inform you as far as vehicles are concerned:

Is it legal to place cameras in vehicles? The answer is clear: yes, but... it is necessary to follow those steps (otherwise it would be illegal installation):

• Add a file in the AEPD, notifying the installation of cameras, their objectives, responsibilities, etc.
• Place a notifying poster following AEPD indications.
• Notify employees and the public of its existence.
• You can not have more than 30 days of recording files.
• Can not record audio.

Private Security Office

• All security installation must be performed by a security company.     
• The security company must be accredited by the Interior Ministry. 
• The facility must be enrolled in the Interior Ministry to be connected to an Alarm Receiving Center.   
• Audio can only be recorded when an alarm is triggered, and it will be recorded by the security company directly from the Alarm Receiving Center.

Workers bylaw

• The employer may establish any (proportional) measure he deems appropriate to verify proper employee job performance.
