Technical

Not all video surveillance systems are the same, so it is technically important to differentiate the characteristics of each system and thus can make the right decision.

We show you now the most basic aspects to consider in choosing a security system.

Cameras: The quality can be measured principally on the lines captured from each camera. The highest quality is 540 lines, and 480 lines provide acceptable quality, less number of lines will not be admissible. Regarding the infrared, it is important to know the amount of leds and if the scope meets the real needs.

Lens: CCD technology is much better than CMOS. In addition, the to higher mm lens the more closed viewing angle, focousing closer to the image or providing more quality viewing with the distance of the camera. In the reverse case, a few milimeters lens (eg 2.8 mm) will give us about 100 degrees viewing angle but sacrifice breadth tour, not having quality video at a distance of more than 5 or 6 meters of the camera.

VCRs: These are the devices responsible for scanning and recording. There are many recording qualities (from minus to highest quality: QCIF, CIF, HD1 and D1), and it is important to evaluate the capability of recording at 25 FPS each channel to ensure real time videos. The hard drive space will set the available time of recording. The most advanced compression format is now the H264 compared to older ones such as MPEG4. Watermark, essential to ensure the originality of the recordings and to serve as legal evidence.
